Chosen For A Purpose

Day 85: Chosen For A Purpose

Haggai 2:23

"On that day,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

The signet ring was more than a piece of jewelry—it was a personal mark of authority, identity, and belonging, symbolizing that we are set apart by His grace. Being chosen by God isn’t based on our abilities or status; it’s about His desire to work through us. When we understand that we are marked with His love and purpose, even in seasons of uncertainty or rebuilding, we can walk confidently in the unique calling He has set before us. Embracing this truth redefines our identity and fills us with the courage to pursue every good work He equips us to do.

Questions:

  • What does it mean to you to be chosen by God?

  • How can you live out your identity as someone set apart for His purpose in your daily life?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for choosing me and marking me as Your own. Help me to embrace the authority and purpose You have bestowed upon me. May Your truth shape my identity and guide my steps each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
