Honoring What Is Holy
Day 87: Honoring What Is Holy
Nehemiah 13:22
"Then I commanded the Levites to purify themselves and go and guard the gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy. Remember me for this also, my God, and show mercy to me according to your great love.”
Nehemiah was passionate about restoring holiness among God’s people, ensuring that the Sabbath was honored as God intended. His prayer reveals both his desire for obedience and his dependence on God’s mercy. In our own lives, setting apart time for God requires intentionality. It’s easy to let distractions creep in, but when we prioritize Him, we experience the renewal and blessing that come from resting in His presence.
Questions:
How can you be more intentional about setting apart time for God?
In what ways does honoring God in your daily life bring spiritual renewal?
Prayer: Father, help me to honor You in my time, my actions, and my heart. Teach me to set apart what is holy and to guard my life against distractions that pull me away from You. Thank You for Your mercy and love as I seek to walk in obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
